The Beaumont Police Department (BPD), in investigating the Jan. 16 robbery of a convenience store that took place in the middle of the day, have reportedly connected the suspect to a previous crime, as well. According to BPD, at 2:55 p.m.

21-year-old evades police with teenage runaway

Nicholas Jay Barton, 21, of Beaumont was indicted by a Jefferson County Grand Jury on Jan. 10 for a third-degree felony charge of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle. The indictment stems from Barton’s Dec. 13, 2023, arrest.

Following an extensive two-year investigation, a suspect has been arrested in connection with the disappearance and homicide of a missing woman. Hunter Colby Tatom, 29, of Buna, was arrested Jan. 4 in the disappearance and homicide of Cristi Ruso. At 9 p.m.

Morning search results in drug arrest

According to the Beaumont Police Department (BPD), the BPD Narcotics Unit, SWAT, Special Assignment Unit and K-9 executed a narcotics search warrant at a home in the 1500 block of Victoria at 5 a.m. on Jan. 5, arresting Anthony Carrizales, 43, of Beaumont.

BPD searching for burglary suspect
