Beaumont police are investigating a burglary after thieves stole a large amount of merchandise, including gaming consoles, from a local GameStop early July 28.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 4:53 a.m. to GameStop, 5890 Eastex Freeway, after receiving a report of an audible alarm. When officers arrived, they reportedly found the business’ front glass door had been shattered.
Police searched the store but did not locate any suspects.
According to the preliminary investigation, a large quantity of merchandise, including gaming consoles, was stolen during the burglary. Surveillance video showed two masked men enter the business, steal the merchandise and flee the scene.
The Beaumont Police Department Crime Scene Unit responded to process evidence at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
