The Jefferson County grand jury has indicted 15-year-old Mahlek Joseph Barry for murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. . He is accused in the June 1 shooting death of 25-year-old Nastazia Corbin at the Virginia Flats Apartments in the 2200 block of Virginia. She died the following day at a Houston hospital. A second shooting victim was treated in Beaumont. Video surveillance at the apartment complex show to shooters. Witnesses and a second defendant, 18-year-old Drevion Wilson, identified Barry as the shooting in the death of Corbin. Barry was arrested the day after the shooting.
