PAPD apprehends PCP-puffing passenger

After stopping to help a motorist driving a slowly-moving car with its hazard lights on, two Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) officers arrested an alleged PCP-puffing passenger, according to a probable cause affidavit released Jan. 11.

Police seeking driver of hit-and-run accident

According to PAPD, on Jan. 5 at approximately 7:39 p.m., a 28-year-old white male on a bicycle was reportedly struck by a vehicle in the 3100 block of 39th Street (westbound). The driver of the vehicle left the scene. The victim suffered “significant,” but non-life-threatening, injuries.

Couple sought in connection to child abuse

The Port Arthur Police Department is asking for help in locating two individuals wanted for several counts of injury to a child: Dylan Wiggins, 27, and girlfriend, Krystal Kirbow, 37. According to PAPD, the pair has 13 outstanding warrants for felony injury to a child.

Accused murderer treated for bullet wound

According to a probable cause affidavit alleging 21-year-old Stephen Raivon Angelle of Port Arthur killed a man just days before Christmas 2021, it was a gunshot wound to the suspect’s foot that led police to his side. Angelle was indicted for the late 2021 murder charge Jan. 19.

PAPD investigating passenger's fall from vehicle

Just before 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) officers responded to the 2200 Block of Robinhood Drive in reference to a woman falling from a vehicle. According to a news release, officers learned that a woman had fallen from a vehicle and sustained serious injuries.

The Port Arthur Police Department’s Narcotics and Guns Unit, accompanied by SWAT, executed a search warrant Jan. 21 in the 3200 block of 9th Street for the possession of synthetic marijuana. Approximately 100 pounds of the synthetic drug was seized, along with a firearm.
