Police allege Lumberton man kidnapped ex-girlfriend

Officers with the Vidor Police Department (VPD) arrested a Lumberton man who reportedly kidnapped and assaulted his ex-girlfriend, who was treated for her injuries at a local hospital.

Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll reported that, after being on the lam for only a matter of hours in the stolen auto he took from his victim, 40-year-old Jason Lee Brown was behind bars Jan. 25 for assaulting and robbing a 74-year-old woman who had hired him to do odd jobs around her home.

Trio brandish guns at Vidor convenience store robbery

Jan. 3, Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll reported an aggravated robbery that had occurred at Super Stop #1 Convenience Store located at 20854 IH-10 in Vidor shortly after 4 a.m. According to Carroll, responding units checked the area of the robbery but were unable to locate the suspects.
