The City of Beaumont has brought in additional contract support as crews continue heavy trash and storm debris collection following Tropical Storm Edouard, that hit Southeast Texas on September 1, 2026.
Three 80-cubic-yard knuckle boom trucks, from DRC Emergency Services, are in town and are working alongside city crews to help with collection and cleanup.
The first citywide pass of storm debris and heavy trash collection is now 95% complete, with crews still expected to finish the first pass by Friday, September 25. Once the first pass is complete, crews will immediately begin a second citywide pass to continue collecting storm debris throughout Beaumont.
Crews are currently working in the area from Phelan to College and Dowlen to I-10.
Since September 3, crews have collected 578 loads totaling 19,637 cubic yards and 3,228 tons of heavy trash and storm debris. That averages more than 200 tons removed each day.
The City appreciates residents’ continued patience as City employees and contract crews continue working through neighborhoods across Beaumont.
