On Wednesday, Sept 16, the Beaumont Police Department conducted a compliance operation targeting registered sex offenders in the city. officers and detectives conducted checks on 62 registered sex offenders to ensure they were meeting requirements under the Texas Sex Offenders Registration Program.
Detectives initiated 13 investigations for failure to comply with sex offenders registration requirements. multiple suspected violations were identified, including offenders who allegedly provided false or inaccurate registration information, failed disclose required information or could not be located at their registered address. Additional charges are pending.
The city of Beaumont has approximately 900 registered sex offenders. The Beaumont Police Department remains committed to proactively enforce sex offender registration laws and protecting the safety of the community, particularly tis most vulnerable members.
