City of Beaumont Solid Waste Crews are making significant progress on trash collection and storm debris following Tropical Storm Edouard, that hit the area on Tuesday, September 1.
As of Wednesday, Sept 16, crews had completed approximately 75% of the first pass for storm-related havy trash and debris in just 10 working days, From September. 3 through the end of the day September 15, crews collected 373 loads totaling 12.667 cubic yards and 2,208 tons of debris.
As of September 16, heavy trash were working in the area from I010 South to MLK and Washington to Cardinal. Despite operating with fewer drivers and equipment operators than normally required, crews are averaging approximately 221 tons of debris collection each day and will continue working through neighborhoods until the first pass is complete. Regular residential trash collection is currently on schedule.
