Louisiana State Police report a Nederland man died Sunday night, Sept 6, after being struck by a pickup in Vinton. According to the accident report, 40-year-old Derek Grandchampt was standing on Highway 90, near Cleveland Road, when he was struck. Grandcahmpt was transported to a hospital where he died. The driver of the pickup was not hurt. Louisiana State Police report Granchampt was wearing dark clothing making it difficult for be seen.
