Police in Orange are investigating a fatal crash. On Thursday, Oct 22 around 9:00 pm, a Toyota Highlander was attempting to turn from the center lane into a private drive and was in a collision with a northbound BMW in the 2400 block of North 16th Street.
A passenger in the Highlander, 58-year-old Maria Zepeda of Orange, was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where she died. The driver of the Highlander was also transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. The driver of the BMW was evaluated and treated at the scene by Acadian Ambulance personnel and was not transported to the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
