The Texas Department of Public Safety reports a man died Thursday morning when the garbage truck he was on rolled over on top of him. The victim, a 31-year-old Silsbee man, was riding on the side of the eastbound truck on Cravy Lane, near FM 418, getting ready for the next stop when the driver veered off the road into a ditch causing the garbage truck to overturn landing on the victim. The victim died at the scene. The driver of the truck, a 31-year-old Beaumont woman, was not injured. The investigation into the fatality continues.
