On Wednesday, Aug 25 at 8:45pm, a Jasper County deputy sheriff was called to the Sub-Courthouse in Evadale where he met with a woman who told him she had been assaulted by her husband, 58-year-old Billy Anders, at their Buna residence. She told the deputy Anders struck her in the back of the head multiple times causing damage to her teeth and a nosebleed. On Tuesday, Aug 26 Anders was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury, which is a Class A Misdemeanor. Anders is a well-know pastor in Hardin County.
