A Beaumont contractor has been arrested and is facing charges of theft of service and misappropriation of construction trust funds. 45-year-old Derick Alan Leger, with Proper Remodels Construction, was taken into custody on June 22 in Jefferson County. He is accused of renting a Skid Loader and Man Lift from 4-Horn Industrial, located on Bourque Road in Nederland, from January 2025 to August 2025 and owes the company more than $20,000. Leger is accused of doing work in the excess of more than $63,0000 and not finishing the job on property in Groves. Leger is also under indictment in Hardin County.
