Police seize suspected fentanyl, meth during warrant service

A lengthy narcotics investigation reportedly led to the execution of a search warrant at a Beaumont residence and the arrest of a local man on multiple drug-related charges, according to the Beaumont Police Department (BPD). 

July 30, members of the BPD Special Services Division, Special Assignment Unit, K-9 Unit, Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force, and FBI executed a search warrant at a home in the 6300 block of Westgate.

According to Beaumont police, officers observed 47-year-old Kadrian Cormier leaving the residence as they prepared to serve the warrant. Detectives subsequently conducted a traffic stop after witnessing a traffic violation and, according to BPD, discovered narcotics in Cormier’s possession. He was taken into custody without incident.

During a search of the residence, investigators reportedly recovered a large quantity of suspected fentanyl, suspected methamphetamine, suspected marijuana, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

Cormier was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, where he was booked on narcotics-related charges. Authorities said additional federal charges are pending as the investigation remains ongoing.
