Firearm, drugs and cash seized

Detectives with the Beaumont Police Department’s (BPD) Special Services Detail conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Ector and Lavaca, which reportedly resulted in two arrests, a firearm, drugs and cash being seized on July 22.

Detectives initiated the traffic stop and contacted the driver, identified as 26-year-old Willie Cain, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. During the encounter, BPD detectives said, Cain fled on foot but was apprehended after a brief pursuit.

As detectives were taking Cain into custody, BPD reported, 39-year-old Gary Boudreaux was seen approaching the vehicle and was observed removing suspected narcotics and an AK-style rifle from inside the vehicle. Boudreaux allegedly attempted to conceal the items in a nearby fence line before he was also taken into custody.

During the investigation, detectives recovered the concealed firearm and suspected narcotics. Cain was additionally allegedly found to be in possession of a large quantity of suspected marijuana and suspected promethazine.

Investigators determined that both Cain and Boudreaux were convicted felons. The suspects were transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, where they were booked on their respective charges.
