State tax report details Southeast Texas ups, downs

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported that state sales tax revenue totaled $3.92 billion in June, 6.8% more than in June 2022. The majority of June sales tax revenue is based on sales made in May and remitted to the agency in June.

Entergy seeks grant funds for PA project

Entergy Texas reported it is “aggressively pursuing U.S. government grant funding” for its infrastructure and electrical grid -hardening project in Port Arthur, seeking to offset the cost of the $79.5 million project serving its almost half a million customers across Southeast Texas.

Beaumont named 'Film Friendly Texas Community'

July 11, Gov. Greg Abbott announced the city of Beaumont, having completed the multi-step training and certification process, has been designated as a Film Friendly Texas Community by the Texas Film Commission.
