TxDOT hearing postponed

The Texas Department of Transportation is postponing a public meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 24.  The original meeting was set to be in person at the Elegante, and was reformated to be an online public hearing to gather input on Interstate 10 widening. 

Orange County receives first positive COVID-19 test

Today, Orange County received confirmation of its 1st positive case of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID19) in an Orange County resident. This individual is currently quarantined at home and cooperating with the direction of the health department.

Port Arthur reports first coronavirus case

Port Arthur Mayor Thurman Bartie announced the city’s first positive test of coronavirus. The person is a healthcare worker and has self-quarantined. The positive test marks the third case for Jefferson County.

Beaumont Public Health Department received confirmation of its 2nd positive case of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in a Beaumont resident.   This individual is currently quarantined at home and is cooperating with the direction of the health department.

Branick: Open businesses should screen employees

Businesses that remain open during the COVID-19 epidemic are urged to use protocol to protect their staff, according to a news release from Judge Jeff Branick, including screening employees, maintaining safe distances and limiting personal, physical contact.
