Sheriff searches for truck thief

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help identifying a truck thief.  The vehicle in question is a grey 2012 Chevy Silverado, with a Texas license plate that reads DKS2866. It was stolen July 18 around 3:30 p.m. at Bottom Line equipment, 3875 Hwy 69 in Beauxart Gardens.

Groves man shot subduing intoxicated intruder

A Groves man fought off a would-be thief, according to an indictment from July 16, suffering a gunshot wound while successfully disarming the assailant. Groves police were dispatched to Gulfway Drive around 4:30 a.m.

A 31-year-old Beaumont man was indicted July 15 for unlawful disclosure or promotion of intimate visual material after he allegedly posted nude photos of his ex girlfriend, and mother of his child, online.

Water line breaks at 10th and McFaddin

July 16, a major water line broke at the intersection of 10th Street and McFaddin Avenue, according to a news release from the city's director of water and sewer operations. This water line break and other breaks due to the extreme heat are causing discolored water throughout Beaumont.

Nederland suffers another COVID-related death

July 17, the city of Port Arthur and Jefferson County health departments reported the fourth COVID-19 related death of a resident of Nederland. The individual was a white female between the ages of 80-85. It has been determined that this individual had underlying health conditions.
