A 31-year-old Beaumont man was indicted July 15 for unlawful disclosure or promotion of intimate visual material after he allegedly posted nude photos of his ex girlfriend, and mother of his child, online.
The 28-year-old victim told police she was made aware of the photos being on an app by another man, who saw the photos online and recognized her. The victim asked if the man could show her these photos because she didn’t have the app on which they appear.
The victim said the 11 photos that appeared in the app were sent exclusively from her to her then boyfriend Joseph R. Woods via Snapchat. The woman provided a sworn statement that Woods was the only person who had access to these photos.
The victim asked why Woods posted the photos, and he responded by saying he hadn’t done anything wrong. However, section 21.16 of the Texas Penal Code disagrees.
