Senior John Sanderson of Hamshire-Fannett High School competed in the Carl Lewis High School Track Invitational last weekend hosted by the University of Houston. Sanderson placed second in the 60-meter hurdles in a personal best time of 8.02, which currently ranks No. 9 in the nation.

Emergency SNAP benefits extended

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has again provided the state with more than $344.1 million in emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program food benefits for January, benefitting about 1.6 million Texas households The funds are distributed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
