From city of Beaumont:
As cleanup and recovery efforts continue following Tropical Storm Edouard, residents and business owners are encouraged to report storm-related damage once conditions are safe.
Damage can be reported through the State of Texas iSTAT survey at damage.tdem.texas.gov. Residents and businesses should submit one survey per affected address. These reports help local and state emergency officials understand the extent of damage in the community and identify areas that may need additional resources. Completing the survey does not replace filing an insurance claim and does not guarantee disaster assistance.
Residents should use caution when assessing damage and should not enter structures with significant structural damage, flooding, downed power lines, natural gas odors or other hazardous conditions. Once it is safe, take photographs of storm-related damage and contact your insurance provider as appropriate.
Downed trees, debris, blocked roadways and other non-emergency storm-related hazards can be reported to the City by calling 3-1-1. Residents who are concerned that a storm-damaged home, building or other structure may be unsafe can also call 3-1-1 to request an inspection by City staff.
Residents and business owners making repairs should use properly licensed or qualified professionals and verify credentials before hiring a contractor. Emergency repairs necessary to protect life, health, safety or property may be performed when necessary, with required permit applications submitted to the City as soon as practicable following the emergency work.
Residents should stay away from downed power lines, damaged electrical equipment and suspected natural gas leaks. Electrical emergencies should be reported to Entergy at 1-800-368-3749, and natural gas emergencies should be reported to CenterPoint Energy at 800-296-9815.
The City of Beaumont continues to assess storm impacts and respond to hazards throughout the community. Residents are encouraged to remain cautious during cleanup and continue monitoring official weather and emergency information.
