Single bid opened for Ford Park sale

Just one bidder made a ploy for the purchase of Jefferson County’s Ford Park Entertainment Complex when bids were open at 11 a.m. Nov. 6. 

Purchasing staff opened the lone bid packet, submitted by Port Arthur Renaissance GP LLC, revealing a bid below the minimum asked. According to staff, the minimum bid was set by county officials at $29.8 million, more than $10 million below appraised value. Renaissance submitted a bid for $22.2 million. 

Jefferson County commissioners are expected to either accept or reject the offer on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
