DPS has released the name of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle Friday night, Aug. 21, in Orange County. 59-year-old Jerry Johnson, of Vidor, reportedly stepped in front of a Jeep traveling north of FM 105, near Sunnydale Road north of Vidor. Johnson was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth in Beaumont where he died. The driver of the Jeep, a 47-year-old Kountze woman, was not hurt.
