Vidor police officer Christopher Wayne Berry was laid to rest Jan. 29 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Orange. From Orangefield, Berry graduated from Lamar University with a degree in criminal justice, then went on to serve and protect the communities of Jefferson County, Newton County, Pinehurst and Vidor over a 30-year career in law enforcement. His End of Watch was Jan. 25, 2022. He was 54.
He is survived by his wife Brenda, his daughter Bailey and her fiancé Andrew, and his son Brayden, and Amber, a bonus daughter through Brenda, as well as his parents, Norman and Loretta Berry. Chris is survived by his three brothers – Mike and his wife Jill, Stephen and his wife Laura, and Michael and his wife Nandita, plus many nieces and nephews.
