County luncheon canceled due to judge’s illness

“TODAY'S LUNCHEON IS CANCELED - PLEASE DO NOT COME TO FORD PARK.”

Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Bill Allen reports that the CHRISTUS State of the County Luncheon, scheduled for 11 a.m. on June 25, is canceled due to the keynote speaker’s illness.

“Early this morning, we received a call that (Jefferson County) Judge Jeff Branick is not feeling well, therefore, our CHRISTUS State of the County Luncheon is CANCELLED,” Allen sent in an email at 9 a.m. the day of the luncheon. “Everyone's health and safety is our priority, especially at a time such as this. We know many people were looking forward to attending this event, whether in-person or virtually, and are saddened to cancel. Our staff (is) also making phone calls to registered attendees and/or business contacts to inform them of this change.”

According Allen, the hope is to reschedule at t a later date.

“We hope to schedule a virtual State of the County with Judge Branick at a later date and will update registered attendees once a decision has been made,” Allen reported.
