As of Tuesday afternoon, four Southeast Texas counties were under burn bans. Due to extreme dry conditions, county judges in Chambers, Jasper, Newton, and Tyler counties implemented a burn ban in their county. Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick told The Examiner it is a probability if we don't get rain by Thursday a burn ban could be implemented in Jefferson County. If your county is not under a burn ban and you do outdoor burning, make sure you have a hose or bucket of water nearby and use extreme caution.
