A royal evening

Neches River Festival kicked of 75 years of celebration as Social Chair Ashley Bryan and President Fuller McSpadden were entertaining in the gorgeous home of Gina and Colby Crenshaw with funtastic couple Brandi and Warren Claybar co-hosting last Thursday evening. During dinner, NRF Chairman of the Knights & President Elect Jeff Wheeler welcomed guess and presented past SC Ashley Messina and King Neches LXXIV Mark Fertitta with a thank you gift. In turn, they pinned Bryan, with the swan pin and presented McSpadden with a presidential hat. Enjoying the evening were NRF Executive Director Molly Moore, Katie Celli, Taylor McSpadden, Tab Bryan, Emily Wheeler, Patti and Floyd McSpadden, Larae and Ross Jones, Elyse and Charlie Jones, Gillian Jenkins, Stephanie and Bernie Daleo, Dynasy Phelan, Nicole and Jeremy Saba, Camille and Lionel Briggs, Lauren Caine, Kate Thorne, Vivian and Jerry Todd, Becki Stedman, Patricia Moore, Christy and Mike Persia, Meredith Ducote, Christina and Josh Crawford, just to name a few.

A busy Thursday… Several events are on the calendar for Thursday, Nov. 10, beginning with St. Mark’s Episcopal Church at 680 Calder Ave. in downtown who will host their annual Chili Supper at lunch, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner from 5-7 p.m. The bazaar and silent auction will open at 10 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m. Guests may dine-in or take orders to-go. The Catholic Charities 20th Harvest of Hope will honor Diane and Don Shaver at the Shaver Albanese hangar with dinner, dancing and live auction. Special guest will be entertainer extraordinaire Tracy Byrd. All hands-on deck at 6 p.m. The McFaddin-Ward House will host an interesting lecture, “Magnolia Cemetery: 1847 to the Present – Where the history of Beaumont Lives” in the visitor center lecture hall at 6:30 p.m. The panel will include Kelli Maness, Paul Prosperie and local historian Judith Linsley

Looking forward… to the Garth House Pour Les Enfants 32nd fundraiser Thursday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. Themed “Garth House Heroes,” the evening kicks-off with a magnificent silent auction, divine wine, fine entertainment, delicious dinner and culminates with a high-energy live auction. Kudos to generous sponsors for such a worthy cause for the children! Lastly, AMSET Collector’s Club will tour the artistic homes of Lisa and Brent Coon, as well as Rob Clark and Jerry Thacker. Celebrating Halloween…. besides all costume characters, who tricked and treated in the neighborhoods on Monday evening, fun experiences were available to the kiddoes over the weekend. St. Anne’s School was able to put on their amazing carnival once again. Another great turnout for the Ghost and Goblins pumpkin extravaganza at Beaumont Botanical Garden at Tyrrell Park, as well.

So tasty… the Symphony League of Beaumont played host to their annual Bourbon Tasting event at 434 Fannin last week. Five different bourbons and three wines were sampled by the guests as well as a bourbon pull, silent and live auction, and cigar bar kept this thirsty crowd engaged as talented musician Jimmy Kaiser performed great tunes with his guitar. Enjoying were Jenny Kaiser, Theresa Hernik, Mandy Mazzola, Marge Shelton, Mandy Oliverio, Kate Davis, Brooke Morrow, Gigi Mazzola, Hillary Shanning, Stephanie Gertz, and Mellie and Sammy Bevilacqua, and others. Co-chairs Marianna Byrnes and Lindi Connor were thrilled as the event raised more than $30,000. The committee is already planning for next year!

News of I do’s… Kamryn Brown and Ryan Healey were featured with a costumed party and announced their engagement this past Saturday evening. Congrats!

Happy anniversary… to Nicki and Frank Messina (1 year), Kate and Wil Thorne (3), Megan and Blake Moss (3), Stacey and Wes Abbey (7) and Tracy and Casey Gates (11). Felicitations!

Storkmarketing… Congratulations to Crystal and Logan King on their second image, Sicily Frances King. The beautiful baby weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and 20.5 inches!
