The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) is seeking the public's help in a fatal hit-and-run crash on May 24. At 5:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Avenue C in response to an accident involving a bicyclist. The victim, Cuong Van Tran, 72, was traveling southbound on Avenue C when he was struck by a dark-colored sedan that fled the scene of the collision. The victim was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, where he later died from his injuries.
According to BPD, the suspect vehicle is described as a dark-colored sedan with noticeable windshield damage. After the crash, the vehicle continued southbound on Avenue C.
