A Mississippi inmate that escaped after a court hearing has been captured in Southeast Texas, reported WAPT. com.

A five-day manhunt across three states ended with Ryan Young’s arrest in Port Arthur. The Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) reported they were notified Dec. 4 that law enforcement from Texas, Mississippi and Louisiana captured Young after they had him cornered in Port Arthur. No one was injured.

MDOC officials said Young escaped Nov. 29 after the hearing in Meridian. He is accused of stealing a truck in Mississippi and then a car in Louisiana before he was taken into custody in Texas.

Young had been serving a 40-year sentence out of Claiborne County for vehicle and residential burglaries, grand larceny and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He was sentenced in 2015 and had a tentative release date of October 2051.
