The Beaumont Police Department is seeking information related to a March 19 welfare check involving a man found lying in the roadway at West Cardinal Drive and Ave. A.
At 8:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to a scene that revealed the man had been struck by a passing vehicle traveling north on Ave. A at the West Cardinal Drive southbound service road.
The vehicle reportedly fled the scene and was last seen traveling north on Ave. A. At press time, the only description of the vehicle is a blue car with yellow side marker lights under the front headlights.
BPD’s Traffic Unit is asking anyone with information to contact investigators at (409) 980-7271.
After a brief investigation, BPD reported finding a suspect vehicle in a subsequent hit and run reported March 29, at approximately 8:57 p.m., near the intersection of Brandon and East Pipkin streets.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a red pickup truck collided with a motorcycle and fled the scene, while the motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital intensive care unit.
The vehicle was described as sporting “significant rear-end damage, particularly on the back right side… (and) also believed to be missing a section of the black plastic step plate from the rear right portion of the bumper.”
March 31, at approximately 3:56 p.m., BPD responded to 3500 Pine Street (Martin Elementary) in reference to a collision involving a vehicle and a juvenile pedestrian.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the juvenile was struck by a vehicle on the roadway,” BPD reported. In the March 31 auto-pedestrian incident, the vehicle remained on scene and the driver is reportedly cooperating with investigative officers. BPD reported that the juvenile suffered minor injuries, but was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
