New name, age for murder suspect in PA homicide

An 18-year-old Port Arthur man was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury in connection with a fatal shooting on Sept. 10, 2022 – one where 15-year-old Kalin White was previously certified to stand trial as an adult for the same murder.

According to the affidavit for arrest warrant, Kharin Lee White committed the murder, a first-degree felony, according to witness statements allegedly made to police.

The document states that Port Arthur Police Department officers went to the Avery Trace Apartments after a shooting was reported on Sept. 10, 2022. They found Quarderious Jordan lying unresponsive with a single gunshot; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses stated that White arrived to the apartment complex with females who lured Jordan from an apartment at the complex. When Jordan exited the safety of the apartment No. 107, the witnesses further advised, White started shooting. The victim had a concealed firearm and returned fire in defense before White fled on foot, the affidavit further details. The victim collapsed on the scene and a secondary physical fight ensured before police arrived. Two witnesses identified White as the shooter – saying that “several anonymous calls” revealed the shooter as a “15-year-old named ‘Karin.’”

Shortly after the murder, 15-year-old Kalin White as taken into custody for the crime; in December 2022, he was certified to stand trial as an adult for the murder.
