A body found April 19 on private property in southwest Montgomery County has been confirmed as a missing woman who vanished last year, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).

According to a MCSO news release on April 24, it was determined the remains were human and forensic pathologists at the Montgomery County Forensic Center confirmed, through dental records, that the bones found were that of Margaret Kay-Alana Turner. “The circumstances and manner of death are still under investigation, however, no foul play is suspected,” stated the news release.

According to reports from the family of Turner, of Beaumont, she went missing March 10, 2023, then 28, when she was last seen in the Tomball area.

Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller advised media outlets April 19 that they, “finally recovered some human remains.”

“I’m not going to say it’s her at this point in time,” Miller added of the idea that remains belong to Southeast Texas’ Turner. “You know, after a year it’s badly decomposed.”

Turner had just left a friend’s Hardin County home on March 9, 2023, experiencing what her family calls a mental health crisis, the day before the year-long search began.

A Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy reported Turner fell asleep in her 2006 Honda Civic in a stranger’s driveway on Country Hills Drive, north of FM 2920, near Tomball. The deputy attempted to knock on her window to awake Turner, but she awoke and put the car in gear and drove through several fences and pastures before getting stuck near Spring Creek. Leaving her purse and cell phone in the vehicle, Turner fled into the nearby woods, according to media reports.

According to Miller, his group has conducted at least 20 searches for Turner.

“After 407 days, Kay-Alana has been found,” her family posted on social media.
