The Provost Umphrey law firm is moving its office to the Edison Plaza this spring, with crews now working on installing the firm’s name atop the downtown Beaumont building. Once complete, the signage would be visible to motorists facing both downtown and Interstate 10.

Accused murderer treated for bullet wound

According to a probable cause affidavit alleging 21-year-old Stephen Raivon Angelle of Port Arthur killed a man just days before Christmas 2021, it was a gunshot wound to the suspect’s foot that led police to his side. Angelle was indicted for the late 2021 murder charge Jan. 19.
