The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) will present James C. Watkins: Reflections Made of Memories, on view from Jan. 7 through March 19, 2023. An opening reception, free and open to the public, is set for on Friday, Jan. 13, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Big Thicket Superintendent Wayne Prokopetz announced that the preserve will begin issuing this season’s free feral hog trapping permits on Monday Feb. 7, at the nature preserve’s visitor center, 6102 FM 420 in Kountze.
All public, private, and homeschools serving K-3rd grade students were invited to submit up to eight works of art for the exhibition.
