DA rescinds Nederland child pornographer’s probation deal, announces more child porn charges for Beaumont Airport employee

After reviewing the probation agreement penned for a soon-to-be registered sex offender who pleaded guilty to 10 counts of child pornography possession, the Jefferson County District Attorney Bob Wortham withdrew the deal and set the Nederland man’s case on track for trial this week.

BPD apprehends heroin handler

Beaumont police reportedly arrested a 43-year-old resident with 800 grams of heroin in his possession. According to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department (BPD), on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 5:13 p.m., officers were patrolling the area of Lucas Drive and Concord Road in Beaumont.

Local teens arrested for assault, auto theft

An assemblage of law enforcement agencies collaborated to arrest five Jefferson County teenagers allegedly responsible for an aggravated robbery and car theft that occurred in a Seguin Walmart parking lot Sept. 5.

SPD: Three arrested on felony charges

Three people were arrested on felony charges by the Silsbee Police Department. According to the SPD arrest report, Richard Lynn Bishop III, 24, was arrested Sept. 8 for evading arrest with vehicle — a third-degree felony. He also had a warrant out from another agency. Sept.

Three Hardin County residents were arrested by Tyler County Sheriff’s Office deputies recently, according to Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford. Sept. 3, Israel Compoz, 27, of Kountze, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.

$1.6 million bond set for man who threatens judges

The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) reported the arrest of a 30-year-old man on Sept. 10 who threatened district judges. His bond was set at $1.6 million by Pct. 6 Justice of the Peace Larry Cryer.
