Jazz at the Lake

The City of Beaumont’s annual Jazz at the Lake returns to the Downtown Event Centre monthly from June to August for summer nights of live entertainment, cool jazz, and community fun. The concert is scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m. indoors at the Event Centre (700 Crockett St.).

‘Bus Stop’

Port Arthur Little Theatre presents “Bus Stop” on Friday, May 26, through Sunday, May 28. The Friday-Saturday shows are 7:30 p.m. while the May 28 is a matinee at 2:30 p.m. In the middle of a howling snowstorm, a bus out of Kansas City pulls up at a roadside diner.

In November of 2017, 10-year-old Trevor Lee Chasson of Hamshire died during an ATV accident. The Southeast Texas communities including Winnie, Hamshire and Fannett, then rallied to honor the legacy of Chasson by creating an annual event called Marsh Fest.

The Golden Triangle Big Band

The Golden Triangle Big Band will perform a free Memorial Day concert at the Jefferson Theatre on Wednesday, May 24, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m., followed. By a 7 p.m. start time. The concert will feature classic big band tunes, patriotic music and more.

Classic Movie Night at the Jefferson

It’s a special Monday edition of Classic Movie Night on May 22 with the 1998 epic war film, “Saving Private Ryan.” Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased online via ticketmaster.com or at the door.

Ren Faire set to take over Ford Park

Renaissance faires date back decades in America. It was 1963 when Los Angeles schoolteacher Phyllis Patterson held a very small Renaissance fair as a class activity, in the backyard of her home in the Hollywood Hills. She wanted an immersive event to teach a class about medieval times.
