Driver killed while street racing in Chambers County

A Harris County man was killed while street racing on Interstate 10 with other sports cars on Feb. 4, according to Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne. Aniket Sanyal, 32, of Houston, died in the crash on the 1-10 east service road in Winnie. According to Hawthorne, at about 2:30 p.m.

Contract worker arrested on H-FISD campus

A contract worker that was working on the Hamshire-Fannett High School campus last month was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury last week on a weapon’s charge related to having his firearm at the campus. Jan.

Dollar store robbed

Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne reports that his office is searching for the actors who robbed a dollar store at gunpoint on Dec. 30. According to Hawthorne, Dec. 30, at about 8:30 p.m., two black males entered the Family Dollar store in Anahuac and displayed a handgun.
