Abbott visits Beaumont to promote early voting

Texas Governor Greg Abbott made a visit to JW’s Patio in Beaumont Feb. 17 to discuss early voting in the 2022 election. Abbott first said one thing he loves about Southeast Texas is the energy sector, and he said he is running for re-election to “keep safe and secure our energy jobs in Texas.

Abbott allowing postponement of local elections until Nov. 3

Governor Greg Abbott today issued a proclamation suspending provisions of the Texas Election Code to allow political subdivisions to postpone their 2020 local elections.  This means local governments now have the ability to postpone their May 2, 2020 elections until November 3, 2020.
