The Master’s Men will sing their final farewell Saturday, March 7, at the Silsbee High School Auditorium, 1575 Hwy 96 N.
The group started in 1995 with three different groups from First Baptist Church Silsbee after singing together at a church member’s funeral.
Throughout the years, members dropped out of the group — usually due to family or work schedules that wouldn’t allow for practice and travel on the weekends. The Master’s Men is a nonprofit group.
Over their 30-year ministry, the group has performed in hundreds of churches and hosted more than 30 concerts with top gospel groups. A unique aspect of the group was the addition of a female in the group in 2017, filling the male tenor part.
Current members are Rusty Mott, lead vocalist from Spurger; Yvette Morgan, tenor from Kirbyville; Bill Wright, baritone from Silsbee; Kent Houp, baritone/emcee from Wildwood; and Mike Burkhalter, from Garrison.
Doors open at 3 p.m. with the concert beginning at 4 p.m. It is hosted by the Master’s Men, Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, the Nathan Areno Band and soloist Scotty Inman.
Tickets can be purchased online at mastersmensilsbee.org or by calling (409) 718-2332.
