Whittington
A man formerly of Jefferson County man, released on bond for possessing child sex assault material and online solicitation of a child under the age of 14, was arrested and made bond again in another Texas county for the similar alleged crime of possessing child sex assault material.
Kyle Matthew Whittington, indicted in 2025 for possession of child pornography and online solicitation of a child under the age of 14 in Jefferson County, was released from local custody in lieu of bonds of $15,000 and $25,000 and allowed to move Tarrant County, where he was again arrested for two counts of possession of child pornography Sept. 5 and granted bond of $200,000.
Although Whittington was able to make bond in the Tarrant County cases, more than a year has passed with pending felonies in Jefferson County without the defendant securing an attorney and allowing the cases to move forward.
Standing before Jefferson County 252nd District Court Judge Raquel West on Sept. 21, Whittington reported that the Tarrant County cases “were out of nowhere.”
Whittington, 36, currently residing in Grand Prairie, was booked in Tarrant County for two new felony cases of allegedly possessing visual material depicting assault.
West, who read into the record that the new charges stem from police locating child sexual assault material on USB drives under Whittington’s control, confirmed that the possession allegedly occurred while he was on bond for the two Jefferson County cases.
“I think it is necessary,” West determined, to raise the local bonds to $150,000 for each of the two alleged offenses. Plus, she said, Whittington cannot access the internet in any manner – “no p-hone, no tablet, computer... anything.”
Whittington has worked in the internet field for much of his professional career, according to his posted resume. According to Whittington, he has worked for MasTec Advanced Technologies and Vivint Wireless in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Dish Network, Sprint Nextel, and RadioShack.
May 24, during a previous Jefferson County court appearance, Whittington told West he had not yet found the time to hire an attorney.
