A murderer is heading to prison for 20 years. The sentence for 26-year-old JaCorry Jamard Green was part of a plea agreement for a murder in Beaumont. Green was sentenced for the July 2021 shooting death of 29-year-old Tyler Womack in the 4300 block of Woodlawn in Beaumont. State Court District Judge John Stevens accepted the plea agreement before announcing the sentence. Green had hung juries in two earlier trials for aggravated robbery. As part of the plea agreement, those charges have been dropped. If Green would have proceeded to trial and been convicted, he faced five to 99 years or life in prison.
