Small Taxing Unit Notice

construction, grading, drainage improvements, articulated concrete mat installation, erosion and sediment control measures, traffic control, site restoration, and associated appurtenant work. The project also includes bid alternates for expanding the truck queuing area specified in the base bid.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a Certified or Cashier’s Check, payable without recourse to the order of the Orange County Navigation and Port District, or a Bid Bond for at least five percent (5%), of the total amount bid, and the bank or bonding company certifying the same shall be liable therefore to the Orange County Navigation and Port District in the event such successful bidder shall fail or refuse to enter into proper contract therefore or shall fail or refuse to furnish bonds therefore as required by law and as hereafter mentioned within ten (10) days after receipt of NOTICE of AWARD. Bidder is hereby advised that the work shall be subject to equal employment opportunity requirements, local prevailing wage rates, and Executive Order No.11246 as amended. In conformance with applicable statutes, the general prevailing wage rates in the locality in which the work is to be performed have been ascertained, and such rates shall be minimum paid for labor employed upon this project.

If you are purchasing property in the name of a company, you must provide a copy of the Assumed Name Certificate, which can be obtained from the Jefferson County Clerk’s office or website, or a Franchise Tax Account Status, with a list of the officers and directors, which may obtain from the Texas Comptroller’s Office Website. If you are not an officer or director of the company, you must also provide a letter on company letterhead signed by an officer or director, giving you authorization to bid on behalf of the company.

A bidder at the sale must be registered, at the time the sale begins, with the person conducting the sale. The bidder must submit the letter (Statement of No Delinquent Taxes Owed) to the person conducting the sale. Once the sale begins at 10:00 a.m., no one will be allowed to obtain a bidder number.
