Hill sentenced to 40 years in prison

A Jefferson County jury has sentenced a Beaumont to 40 years in prison. The same jury convicted 23-year-old Treylyn Hill for a July 2024 shooting in North Beaumont. Hill met the victims in parking lot in the 7100 block of Eastex Freeway in Beaumont to purchase a rifle. Instead of paying, Hill pulled out a handgun and began shooting at the victims as he ran towards his truck. The victims followed Hill on the North Highway 69 feeder road. Hill fired multiple shots while driving to the Chinn Lane exit. More shots were fired at the victims near Guseman Park. He was arrested the same night of the shooting. The jury convicted Hill for aggravted robbery. Hill was initially being represented by Laurie Perozzo in Judge Raquel West's Courtroom. An hour into the trial, Hill decided to represent himself.
