July 10 at approximately 9:08 p.m., officers with the Beaumont Police Department (BPD) responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Porter Street in reference to a reported victim of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers rendered lifesaving aid and stabilized the victim until Beaumont Fire/Rescue and EMS personnel arrived on scene, at which time the victim was transported to a local hospital before being transferred to a Houston-area hospital for further treatment.
The preliminary investigation indicated that the suspect entered the residence armed with a firearm, shot the victim, and fled the scene before officers arrived, BPD reported. Detectives named a suspect identified as 34-year-old John Wilson of Beaumont, and requested the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest.
