United Way of Mid & South Jefferson County (UWMSJC) recently announced a $100,000 pledged gift from Golden Pass LNG for 2026, made in recognition and celebration of the organization’s 100th year of service to the community.
Founded in 1926 as the Community Chest, United Way MSJC has spent the last century evolving to meet the changing needs of Mid & South Jefferson County, according to a news release. What began as a local effort to pool charitable resources has grown into a trusted organization dedicated to strengthening education, health and financial stability for families throughout the region.
Golden Pass LNG’s pledge represents a significant milestone in the organization’s centennial year. Since arriving in the area, Golden Pass LNG has been a valued supporter of United Way MSJC’s mission and community-based work.
“This extraordinary gift honors our past while helping secure our future,” United Way MSJC CEO Janie Johnson said. “As we celebrate 100 years of community impact, we are grateful to Golden Pass LNG for recognizing the legacy of United Way MSJC and investing in the next generation of service.”

In recognition of its centennial anniversary, United Way MSJC will host a series of events throughout the year to honor the organization’s history, recognize longtime partners and supporters, and celebrate the future of its work across Mid & South Jefferson County.
