McBride to headline annual Christus Gala

Country music icon Martina McBride will take center stage at the 43rd Annual Christus Southeast Texas Foundation Gala on Sat., April 11, at the Beaumont Civic Center.

The Christus Gala, an esteemed black-tie benefit organized by the Christus S Southeast Texas Foundation, stands as a beacon of sophistication and philanthropy, offering an unforgettable experience year after year. Attendees can look forward to an evening of refined entertainment, beginning with cocktails and conversation, followed by a gourmet meal and culminating in an intimate performance by the powerful McBride. Funds raised through the gala support critical lifesaving equipment and services at Christus Southeast Texas Health System facilities.

“We are thrilled to welcome Martina McBride as the headliner for this year’s Christus Gala,” said Teri Hawthorne, foundation executive director. “Her iconic voice, heartfelt ballads and unwavering commitment to philanthropy promise to make this year’s celebration truly unforgettable.”

McBride moved to Nashville in 1990 and signed with RCA Records a year later. She released her debut album in 1992, which contained the hits “My Baby Loves Me” and “Independence Day.” Other popular songs are “The Time Has Come,” “Wild Angels,” “A Broken Wing,” “This One’s for the Girls,” “In My Daughter’s Eyes” and “Anyway.”

Over her three-decade career, McBride has earned multiple CMA and ACM Female Vocalist of the Year awards, sold millions of albums and become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Known for her powerful voice and songs with meaning, she continues to be a leading voice in country music and an advocate for women in the industry.

In 2019, she was honored with the ACM Cliffie Stone Icon Award for her lasting impact on country music. In 2021, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled her exhibit, “The Power of Her Voice,” celebrating her extraordinary career.
