On May 31, the Beaumont Police Department (BPD) reported that eight people were extract after an SUV struck a tree at 4460 Concord Road. The accident happened about 2:16 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found a silver Yukon folded around a tree. Evidence showed the vehicle went off road at Redwood Street at Concord, before over correcting and striking the tree. The vehicle had been seen driving recklessly just prior to this accident.
Beaumont EMS and Fire arrived and began trying to extract the trapped occupants. BPD reported there were numerous serious injuries, including broken femurs, compound fractures, fractured skulls and broken arms. All of the occupants are being treated at St. Elizabeth Hospital, while two were trauma alerted.
Only one of the passengers was able to walk on his own to a waiting ambulance.
