The United Way of Beaumont & North Jefferson County “Ladies in Red” ambassador fundraising campaign, hosted throughout the month of January to raise money for the 20 local nonprofit organizations supported by the Southeast Texas United Way, posted a successful event, as announced Feb. 4.
“We had 17 women in our community that signed on to raise money and awareness of United Way’s mission to improve the quality of life for Jefferson County,” Director of Community Relations for United Way of Beaumont Travis Walker said. “We were in awe of the results of our first Ladies in Red Campaign.”
The Ladies in Red campaign raised a total of $33,699.83, which will help fund 36 programs that address health, education and financial stability in Southeast Texas.
“As we proceed toward our grant allocation season, this is a major boost to how much we can assist our partners with funding,” said Walker. “Our agencies are providing essential services to our community, and we want to help as much as we can with funds.”
The top three fundraisers of the 2025 Ladies in Red campaign were Lisa Prejean, Jenny Bonham and Barbara Wilson, Walker shared. The 2025 Ladies in Red ambassadors included: Annie Howell, Ashley Washburn, Barbara Wilson, Debbie Bridgeman, Elisabeth Tatum, Fabiana Baum, Jennifer Burch, Jenny Angelo, Jenny Bonham, Kelci Crawford, LaDonna Sherwood-Hailey, Lisa Prejean, Micah Dobbs, Patrina Adger, Sophie Hurley, Tea Do and Tish Cornell.
