An Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) deputy was arrested after being indicted for child sex abuse.
According to a statement issued by OCSO, Kenneth Wayne Bost, 53, was indicted by a grand jury Aug. 21 for continuous sexual abuse of a child (first-degree felony) and indecency with a child (second-degree felony). He was arrested Aug. 22 after warrants were issued; his total bond is $400,000, according to OCSO.
First-degree felonies carry a sentence of 5-99 years, and up to a $10,000 fine. July 1, OCSO was made aware of an alleged criminal offense concerning Bost, who was assigned to the patrol division at the time of the complaint. The Criminal Investigations Division immediately began an investigation, subsequently contacting the Texas Rangers Beaumont Office.
OCSO reported that, once the investigation was complete, the findings were submitted to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Bost was employed with OCSO for four years. On the date of the complaint, Bost turned in a resignation letter stating that he intended to give his two weeks’ notice and that he had found employment elsewhere. After initial statements were taken from the complainants, his resignation was made effective immediately.
OCSO noted the Orange County District Attorney’s Office assisted with the case.
