Three Silsbee High girls to compete for state ag crown

Three Silsbee High School students were chosen as Texas Miss US Agriculture queens for local counties and will be competing for state titles and scholarships in November 2023. Freshman Kylee Champagne will represent Hardin County, freshman Rhaleigh Cox ill rep Jefferson County, and sophomore Payton Gill will be the face of Tyler County.

As part of the Texas Miss U.S. Agriculture program, the trio will complete acts of service and learning more about the agriculture industry. Each queen will be given the opportunity to determine where they fit into the industry and what they are passionate about.

Their titles will give them the platform to help teach, inspire and advocate for the farming culture. Their duties will include donating time to local organizations, and working to make a difference through community service projects.

Winners will advance to the national competition.
